Your inputs are valuable to me and I'm looking for suggestions on how we can alleviate the worsening airplane noise in parts of Flushing and Queens, New York.
Recently, a coalition of civic groups and community leaders, led by the Queens Quiet Skies, held a rally in Cunningham Park against airplane pollution that attracted over 250 people. I joined dozens of local, state, and federal elected officials at this rally to lend our support.
In 2013, my colleagues in the State Assembly and I sponsored the "Part 150" legislation (noise study bill), which passed the state legislature. This led to Governor Cuomo directing Port Authority to address the airplane noise near JFK and LaGaurdia airports.
But we need to do more and I want to hear directly from you!
